How to Prep, Apply, and Remove our Press-On Nails

Get salon-quality nails at home with Shellina Nails! Follow these simple steps to apply your press-on nails for a long-lasting, flawless look.

What You’ll Need:

  • Shellina press-on nails set
  • Nail file and buffer
  • Cuticle pusher (optional)
  • Alcohol wipe or acetone
  • Shellina nail tabs or glue (depending on your preference)

Step 1: Prepare Your Nails

  1. Clean Your Nails: Start by removing any old polish or residue using an alcohol wipe or acetone. This step ensures that your press-on nails adhere properly.
  2. Push Back Your Cuticles: Gently push back your cuticles using a cuticle pusher. This creates a clean surface for your press-on nails and helps them look more natural.
  3. File and Buff: Lightly buff the surface of your natural nails to remove any shine. This helps the adhesive stick better. Then, file your nails to your desired shape.

Step 2: Select Your Nail Sizes

Choose the Right Size: Check the Sizing tutorial.

    Step 3: Apply the Adhesive

    Option 1: Using Nail Tabs

    1. Apply the Nail Tabs: Peel off a nail tab and place it on your natural nail, starting at the cuticle. Press down to secure it.
    2. Remove the Top Film: Once the tab is in place, peel off the top protective film.
    3. Press On the Nail: Align the press-on nail with your cuticle, then press it down firmly for 10-15 seconds to secure it in place.

    Option 2: Using Nail Glue

    1. Apply a Drop of Glue: Place a small drop of nail glue on your natural nail and another drop on the inside of the press-on nail.
    2. Press On the Nail: Quickly align the press-on nail with your cuticle, and press it down firmly for 10-15 seconds until the glue sets.

    Step 4: Shape and Finish

    1. File to Perfection: If needed, gently file the tips and edges of your press-on nails to smooth out any rough spots or to adjust the shape to your preference.

Step 5: Enjoy Your New Nails!

That’s it! You’re all set to flaunt your gorgeous, salon-worthy nails. Shellina Nails are designed to last up to two weeks with proper care.

    Removal Tips:

    • Nail Tabs: Gently peel off the nails starting from the sides. If they’re stubborn, soak your nails in warm soapy water for a few minutes to loosen the adhesive.
    • Nail Glue: Soak your nails in warm, soapy water or acetone for 10-15 minutes to soften the glue. Gently lift the press-on nails from the sides and peel them off. Never force them off to avoid damaging your natural nails.

    Reuse Your Nails:

To reuse your Shellina Nails, remove any adhesive residue from the back of the nails after removal. Store them in a safe place to use them again for another occasion.
